Continental's Transition to UniGroup a Success

Hello, I am Ginnie Blaine, Vice President and co-owner of Continental. Much has changed in the last year for Continental, including our change to new Van Line representation. As most of you know, after 55 years with Allied, we have joined UniGroup, representing Mayflower in Seattle and Tacoma, and United in Alaska. There was an incredible amount of work involved in the transistion. For instance, have you ever tried to paint 100 pieces of Orange equipment?

The transition so far has been a resounding success.  Our service levels remain at an all time high. With the added capacity and capability of our new Van Lines, we see a bright future.

We developed this E-newsletter as a way to keep our name in the forefront of your minds when you need moving and storage services. We're pretty darned proud of the work we do.  Thank you for the opportunity to be of service. We look forward to serving you in the future.

All the best,

Ginnie

Relocation: Change in Fast Forward Relocation: Change in Fast Forward

I'm Brad Fransen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Continental.  I know first hand how stressful a relocation can be. In August of 2007, my family and I experienced a house fire, sending us to temporary housing with nothing but the clothes on our back. We were blessed that no one was hurt.

But in the year plus it has taken to get us back into our home, I have realized that our experience was not that different than a cross-country relocation. Redefining what "home" means takes time.  While we focus upon the effect of change upon our children, there is an equally difficult transition for adults. Meeting new people, finding our way to work, even chosing a new  sock drawer is a process; one that takes time.

For service providers, like us, the mover, it is sometimes easy to forget what our customers are going through while we move them from point A to point B, their new home.  This experience has certainly taught me how important great service, consistent communication, and sometimes just a sympathetic ear are to our customers during a move.

John Adams, Continental Moving Consultant summits Mt. Rainier John Adams, Continental Moving Consultant summits Mt. Rainier
OK. The flag was actually photoshopped into the picture, but John Adams, Continental Certified Moving Consultant, and his son Bryce, actually summited Mt Rainier over the weekend. That is pretty neat in itself, but for a nearly 50 year old novice climber, it is an incredible feat.

John has no plans to best this achievement in terms of climbing, but he is certainly glad that it is over.

"That was the hardest thing I have ever done," states John.

No, not actually. I have informed him that he needs to go back so that we can get the Mayflower flag in the picture too!

Great People. Great Service.
We'd love to hear from you!
