Continental Participates in World's Largest Truck Convoy

Continental Van Lines, agent for Mayflower Transit in the Puget Sound Area participated in the 2009 World's Largest Truck Convoy to raise money for the Special Olympics. Nationally, nearly 2500 trucks participate in the event.

This years Puget Sound event included over 200 trucks from supporting companies. Beginning at the Tacoma Dome, trucks convoyed to the Tukwila area. At that destination they were welcomed by Special Olympics athletes, families, friends, colleagues, law enforcement officers, the Special Olympics community, and the organizations, companies and agencies that make up the trucking industry.

A celebration — a picnic, barbeque, awards ceremony, was held at the destination to recognize participating truckers and the support of the trucking industry.

Van Foreman Geoffrey Billingsley drove one of Continental's familiar gleaming white, yellow, and green tractor trailer units.
